Belgium needed extra time to see off Senegal in the Round of 32 before a 4-1 win over the USA sent the co-hosts home. England vs Norway: Saturday, 11 July

England overcame Mexico 3-2 in the Round of 16, with Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham both among the tournament’s top scorers. Norway have been the surprise package of the knockout rounds, with Erling Haaland’s brace knocking out five-time champions Brazil 2-1 in the last 16. Update: England won 2-1 after extra time, Jude Bellingham scoring either side of an Andreas Schjelderup equaliser to send England into the semifinals.

Argentina vs Switzerland: Saturday, 11 July

Defending champions Argentina survived a scare, coming back from two goals down to beat Egypt 3-2 with a Lionel Messi equaliser and an Enzo Fernandez stoppage-time winner. Switzerland reached their first World Cup quarterfinal since 1954, beating Colombia 4-3 on penalties after a goalless 120 minutes. The FIFA World Cup 2026 Semifinals Are Set

All four quarterfinals are done, and the semifinal draw pairs the tournament’s remaining unbeaten sides against its two knockout survivors. France vs Spain kicks off Tuesday, 14 July at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, a rematch of last year’s Nations League final that Spain won 5-4.
